Pinterest has always hovered on the edge of the social media strategy with most brands and agencies chucking the channel into the "too-hard" basket.
However that said for anyone on the influencer, content creator and early adopter on the left-side of the 'fashion and trend lifecycle" (see image below) - Pinterest remains a go-to channel for finding new and inspiring ideas, trends and content.
For the rest of us, Pinterest may be fit into our own life cycle in a more sporadic way - which makes it a really interesting channel to use to target "in-market"audiences.
Think of the last time you moved house, did a major build or a refurb?
Got married?
Needed a new wardrobe for your next travel adventure?
Or just opened your wardrobe and sighed at the sheer boredom of what was on offer.
Heading to Pinterest is what many people do during their "IRL Lifecycle" (in-real-life) stages and changes.
So much so that Pinterest now release an annual trend forecast based on their audiences pins and searches and changes in behaviour.
